Abadi Meets Secretary General of the Arab League

Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Abul Gheit confirmed that Arab League stands with Iraq and its unity, sovereignty and cohesion of its people.
A statement by the Information Office of the Prime Minister said, "Abadi, received at his residence in Munich, the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, who expressed happiness at the success of the Iraqi government in the liberation the land and defeat terrorism."
He said "what is heartening is achieving these successes and the return of civilians to their homes and their confidence in the Iraqi forces and we look with respect to the status of Iraq and the capabilities of its people, stressing his intention to visit Iraq soon.
Aboul Gheit affirmed the need of Iraq's attendance at the highest levels in the Arab and regional, confirming the Arab League's stand with Iraq's unity, sovereignty and cohesion of its people.
For his part, Abadi said, "We are going on doing political and economic reform and our government respects the freedom and intellectual diversity,.
On the issue of fight against terrorism and the operations to liberate Nineveh, Abadi pointed that " what is remaining in the city is less than what have been liberated, and this is the first battle we are waging in terms of keeping the civilians in their homes and their crowded towns and spare them the risk of being abused by Daesh with restoring basic and health services to them, and what delights us is growing trust and cooperation of the citizens with the Iraqi forces, ".
