The South Korean baseball club Lotte Giants announced their signing of new pitcher Enderson Franco on Friday.
The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) team signed the 27-year-old Venezuelan to a one-year deal worth up to US$500,000. The right-hander will make $245,000 in salary and $55,000 as a signing bonus. He can earn up to $200,000 in incentives.
Franco pitched for the San Francisco Giants in 2019 for his first taste of the majors and made five relief appearances spanning 5 1/3 innings. He had a 3.38 ERA with no win-loss record.
In the minor leagues, Franco compiled a 45-59 record and a 4.57 ERA in 183 games, including 163 starts.
The KBO's Giants said Franco's fastball sits above 150 kph, and that they also like his changeup. That he has stayed healthy throughout his career and has been starting consistently in the minors was also a plus, the club added.
KBO clubs are each allowed to carry three foreign players, with a maximum two pitchers. The Giants have already re-signed shortstop Dixon Machado and are also trying to bring back right-hander Dan Straily for another season.
Straily went 15-4 with a 2.50 ERA as one of the KBO's top starters this season. The Lotte Giants said Straily is eyeing a path back to the majors and that they have made him an offer while respecting his wishes to pitch in the big leagues again.

Rival forces have not yet begun their withdrawal from counter positions, as required by the ceasefire agreement reached in Geneva on October 23, UN special envoy for Libya Stephanie Williams said in a videoconference Friday at the UN Security Council.
Nonetheless, she added, recent economic and political developments after the ceasefire have raised hopes in the North African country.
Williams noted in a statement that: ''While the Joint Military Commission seeks to operationalize the ceasefire agreement, the two sides have not yet begun to withdraw their forces.
Government of National Accord forces remain stationed at Abu Grein and al-Washkah, with patrolling activities reportedly taking place. Military cargo flights were monitored at al-Watiya and Misrata airports.
The Libyan Arab Armed Forces and auxiliaries continued to set up fortifications and military outposts equipped with air defence systems between Sirte and al-Jufra, and in the northern area of al-Jufra airbase. Intense cargo aircraft activity was monitored between Benina airport, al-Jufra and al-Gardabiya airbase.''
The ceasefire calls for all military units and armed grpups to withdraw from the frontlines while mercenaries and foreign fighters must leave Libya territory within 90 days.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Thursday called for member States to agree to an overhaul of the EU system to manage migrants and asylum seekers to ensure that the countries most exposed to the problem, such as Italy, receive more help.
"It is important for the EU to create a long-term migration-management system that is fully based on European values and this is why the European Commission approved a new pact on migration and asylum at the end of September," von der Leyen told a high-level conference on migration and asylum.
"Migration is a complex issue. There are many genuine concerns to reconcile.
"We must talk about the concerns of countries at the external frontier of the Union, such as Italy, Greece and Spain.
"They are worried that their efforts to manage migration go beyond their capacity and they need the solidarity of others".

The COVID vaccine being developed by Oxford University with the help of AstraZeneca and Italy's IRBM is well tolerated, above all in the elderly, and induces an immune protection similar to that seen in young adults, according to stage two trials published in The Lancet on Thursday.
The second phase trials were conducted on 560 healthy adults, 240 of them over the age of 70.
Researchers will have to wait for the results of stage three trials to say whether the vaccine protects against infection by SarsCov2, the article said.
That stag of trials is still ongoing.
Some results of stage three testing were published early in the non-scientific press.
Oxford University said the next step was to verify the duration of the protection afforded by the vaccine.
Project coordinator Andrew Pollard said it was crucial to test the vaccine on the elderly, who must have priority in any future vaccination.
Sarah Gilbert, co-author of The Lancet study, said it was vital to confirm the effectiveness of the vaccine in elderly patients with other pathologies.
Italy is starting phase three of trials of the new COVID vaccine.
Tests will start at Modena hospital and university, with the first inoculations beginning on December 1.
Cristina Mussini, head of Modena's infectious disease centre and university researcher, said they hoped to have the vaccine by April next year.
Piero Di Lorenzo, the president of the IRBM Pomezia centre that is working with Oxford University on the vaccine for Astra Zeneca, has said that the first doses could be ready even earlier, by the end of December.
AstraZeneca is a British-Swedish multinational pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company with its headquarters in Cambridge and its R&D concentrated in three strategic centres: Cambridge, Gothenburg and Gaithersburg.
IRBM Science Park is an Italian firm, founded in 2009 at Pomezia just south of Rome, operating in the sector della molecular biotechnology, biomedical science and organic chemistry.

Italian fashion house Valentino said Thursday that it was launching legal action with Amazon to combat counterfeiting of its products.
It is the first time Valentino has embarked on litigation of this kind with an online retailer.
The companies are suing Buffalo, New York-based Kaitlyn Pan Group, LLC and New York resident Hao Pan for counterfeiting the Valentino Garavani Rockstud shoes, and offering the products for sale on https://kaitlynpanshoes.com/ and Amazon.com.
"One of our core missions is to safeguard our brand and protect the Valentino Community by celebrating inclusivity and with creativity at the heart of everything we do," said a company statement.
"We feel this connection with Amazon will highlight the importance also in fashion for greater awareness, knowledge and understanding by shielding the brand online and its resources."

A maestro, his orchestra, and a theatre are all that is needed to rediscover the joy of making music together and share it with everyone, everywhere - with the help of an ANSA project.
Riccardo Muti is leading the Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra at Ravenna's Alighieri Theatre for two concerts which will be streamed for free on November 22 and 29, at 11am CET, on the ravennafestival.live website.
The shows will then be available for a further 15 days.
The concerts are taking place thanks to collaboration between the Ravenna Festival, the Fondazione Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini, and RMMUSIC, with the contribution of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna.
The concerts will also be available on ANSA.it as part of the 'ANSA per la Cultura' (ANSA for Culture) project, which sees Italy's top news agency hosting live-streamed events from the nation's most important theatres on its website.
The collaboration with the Spring Festival in Tokyo has been renewed and the concerts will be streamed on its website too.
The programmes chosen by Muti reflect principles which have always featured in his work - a keen interest in the new generation of musicians and his love for his country.
The November 22 concert is entirely dedicated to Schubert, with Symphony No. 3 and the Unfinished Symphony, which was performed during the first concert of the Cherubini Orchestra in 2005.
On November 29 there will be an all-Italian programme including Martucci's Notturno, Puccini's Preludio Sinfonico, and Verdi's overtures from Nabucco.
The Alighieri Theatre is one of the only eight places in the world (and the only theatre in Italy) that the cutting-edge D&B Soundscape En-space system has been used.
